We repair and overhaul gearboxes of various types, this work can include:


  • Replacement of worm wheel and worm shafts
  • Replacement seals
  • Replacement bearings
  • Replacement couplings

Each gearbox is then tested to ensure it performs to specification and a full written report provided.

Pye London has the heavy duty press and portable horizontal bearing pullers required for the safe removal of couplings, gears and bearings.

Shafts are checked for dimensional accuracy, concentricity, ovality and straightness before being refitted. This when added to the crack detection, means that as our customer, you can be confident that any refitted components have been fully inspected, to ensure they conform to specification.

Gears and shafts are re-assembled with new bearings fitted, backlash and end float are checked against manufacturers specifications.
